“West Texas” by Lisa Beggs

Driving north out of Big Bend National Park, I was visually decompressing from endless grand landscapes when these pastel badlands called me to pull over. Lazy Texas longhorns were covered in flies surrounded by horses scattered about. This horse came walking out from behind a grey eroded slope and stopped side profile as if waiting for me to take the photo, then went about its business.
